16th Region Basketball Tournaments Rescheduled

As a result of the winter storm, the 16th Region Basketball Tournament girls semifinals originally scheduled for Friday, March 6 have been postponed.

The revised schedule for the 16th Region Girls and Boys Tournament is as follows:

The girls semifinals will be played on Saturday, March 7 at Johnson Arena on the campus of Morehead State University. The first game will start at 6 p.m., with Ashland Blazer facing East Carter.  The second game will begin 25 minutes following the end of the first game, or at approximately 7:30 p.m., with Fleming County facing Boyd County.

The finals for the girls tournament will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Boys first round first session games will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015. The first game will be at 2 p.m., with Boyd County facing Elliott County. The second game will begin 25 minutes following the end of the first game, or at approximately 3:30 p.m., with Rowan County facing Greenup County.

Boys first round second session games will be played on Monday, March 9. The first game will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Morgan County facing Ashland Blazer. The second game will begin 25 minutes following the end of the first game, or at approximately 8:00 p.m., with Raceland facing Fleming County.

The semifinals for the boys tournament will be held on Tuesday, March 10 starting at 6:30 p.m. The boys final game will be played on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. 

“We look forward to seeing the crowds safely back in Johnson Arena on Saturday,” said Jeffrey Liles, 16th Region Tournament Manager.
