Appalachian Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair set for Dec. 3

Morehead State University

Morehead State University’s Kentucky Folk Art Center will host its annual Appalachian Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair at the Laughlin Health Building, on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With more than 100 artists and craftspeople from Kentucky and other states, arts and craft fair is the largest and most diverse event of its kind in the region.

The Appalachian Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair offers visitors a wide and varied selection of regional arts and crafts, ranging from the traditional to the cutting edge, including many holiday decorations and gifts.

Admission to the fair is $3 per person; children under 12 are admitted free.

“There’s something for everyone,” said Tammy Stone, one of the event coordinators. “Visitors will find traditional crafts, holiday decorations and handmade furniture. It’s the best opportunity in the region to find unique, handmade holiday gifts.”

“This is certainly one of our most successful and well-attended events,” said Matt Collinsworth, KFAC director. “After decades in operation, it stands as one of the most significant events in eastern Kentucky. People come from all over the state and across the region. The fair is a special time during the holidays around here.”

The Kentucky Folk Art Center is a cultural, educational and economic development service of Morehead State University. The Center is open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional information is available from the Center’s website at http://www.kyfolkart.org or by calling 606-783-2204.
