Back in Time... Remembering Rowan's Past

January 24th -- Chuck Mraz is joined by J. D. Reeder and Angela Traver to talk about the Morehead Theatre Guild's production of  "Back in Time... Remembering Rowan's Past." Join the Rowan County Arts Center for the first in a series of engaging conversations with historic characters from Rowan County’s colorful past by bringing together Judge John Rowan of Bardstown, for whom our county was named, Colonel John Hargis, our first community entrepreneur, and Isabella Oxley, Morehead’s first landowner. This segment recalls the very beginning of Rowan County and the town of Morehead some 30 years before the outbreak of the Rowan County War—the infamous Tolliver-Martin Feud of the 1880’s. Sometimes witty and eccentric, often thoughtful and even tragic, but always appealing, these self-portraits will both delight and enlighten as they take you back into the Morehead of yesterday. Featured performers will include J. D. Reeder as Judge Rowan, Roger Fischer as Colonel Hargis, and Gabria Sexton as Mrs. Oxley. Presented as a benefit for the Rowan County Arts Center in cooperation with the Morehead Theatre Guild, January 25 and February 1, 2014, Rowan County Arts Center Auditorium
