The Buffalo Trace Agency for Substance Abuse Policy held the last of its community forums this week on heroin abuse. However, the agency says the six meetings that took place throughout the region are just the beginning of efforts to combat the problem.

The final meeting took place in Maysville Monday. The agency heard from citizens, medical professionals, law enforcement officers and others over the past month and a half. One of the goals was to educate people about the heroin issue and help communities develop programs to address it.
