Carter County Receives $215,500 for Slide Repairs

The Carter County Fiscal Court has been granted $215,500 by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Department of Rural and Municipal Aid to repair slides on eight roads.

The money is from the County Road Aid Emergency Fund. The repairs will make each roadway safer for cars, school buses and other vehicles.

The slides are located on:

·         Dry Fork Road

·         Aden Road

·         Fultz Road

·         Square Lick Road

·         Cory Road

·         Steward Branch Road

·         Evermans Creek Road

·         Bourbon Hollow

The Department of Rural and Municipal Aid frequently dispatches funds directly to city and county governments for improvement of routes that are not state-owned but tie into the state highway system.
