Pro Division Results

Temperatures on Saturday were in the mid 50's with NW winds at 5-10 mph. The fish had slowed down due to a cold front that had moved through earlier in the week, and the water was rain stained, but that didn't keep Tim and Reba Cleary from taking first place in the Pro Division with a total weight of 6.39 pounds and earning $1,400.00, plus and additional $150.00 for 2nd place Big Fish and $500.00 Ranger Cup Bonus. The Pikeville, Kentucky team had to move all over the lake to find fish in their Ranger 188. They targeted ledges with structure in 12 -14 feet of water using multiple colors and one pole to land around 40 fish for the day. Their 2nd place Big Fish was a 1.48 pounder.

Kris and Terry Mann, both of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky took second place with a total weight of 5.87 pounds and earned $600.00, plus an additional $350.00 Big Fish of the event. The team had to move around the lake to find their fish in their Ranger 188 Aluminum, stating that the cold front moved the fish back out to the main lake. They fished drops, ledges and brushpiles using Crappie Magnet in green/chartreuse color tipped with minnows in 18 – 20 feet of water, catching their Big Fish at 27 feet, that weighed 1.50 pounds.

Taking third place were Roger Claywell of New Castle, Indiana and Derek Byard of Noblesville, Indiana weighing in at 3.27 pounds and earning $400.00, plus an additional $250.00 Talon Bonus. The team fished out of their new Ranger 198 Aluminum rigged with a Minn Kota Talon. They fished in one area across from Clay Lick using pink jig heads tipped with minnows in 14 – 20 feet of water to land 25 total fish for the day.
