An Olive Hill man says his appeals to public officials to take action to stop a pack of dogs from roaming the city and causing thousands of dollars in property damage have failed to yield any results. Benjamin Tolle says he has complained about the dogs for nearly half a year, speaking with police, the mayor, Carter County’s animal control officer and the county judge executive.
Over the Labor Day weekend, he says, they moved onto his property and attacked two cats that were living on his porch…
Tolle says the dogs, which number about eight or nine, also attacked him when he attempted to rescue his cats. He says he’s concerned about the safety of small children in the community. A message seeking comment has been left with the county animal warden.

Sherman Sparks is Carter County’s animal control warden. He visited the site of the attack Wednesday and offered to trap the dogs if they return…But he doesn’t believe there’s a public safety issue...
Sparks says he’s been told the dogs number about four or five and only travel together at night. He says most of their mischief has been knocking garbage cans over.
