Families Of Injured Firefighters Thank Community For Support

An outpouring of community support for two firefighters injured during an ALS ice bucket challenge accident has the victims’ families speaking out.

Relatives of Tony Grider and Alex Quinn gave an update on their condition and thanked supporters during a press conference Thursday.

"The response to all of this, is just amazing. And all the people's response to us, and the thanks and prayers and gifts are just, I mean, thank you just seems so inadequate," said Grider's wife, Gena. The firefighters were helping pour ice water on the Campbellsville University Marching Band last week when an electrical charge from a nearby power line arced and hit the men.

WLKY-TV reports Quinn’s condition is improving, but Grider remains in a medically-induced coma.
