Fort Boonesborough State Park and the Fort Boonesborough Foundation will host a series of “Fireside Chats” with famous characters from Kentucky history beginning on Feb. 4, 2017.
During each Saturday program, there will be a “Taste of Frontier Fare” from 5:30-6:15 p.m. The program begins at 6:45 p.m. at the 18th Century Tavern blockhouse. Below is the schedule of portrayals of Kentucky historical figures.
Feb. 4: Daniel Boone, Kentucky explorer and pioneer, portrayed by Kevin Hardesty as part of the Kentucky Humanities Council Chautauqua program.
Feb. 11: Mad Anne Bailey, frontier scout, portrayed by Suzanne Thomson.
Feb. 18: Murder on the Frontier: The Harpe Brothers, considered by some to be America’s first serial killers who traveled in Kentucky and other bordering states in the late 1700s. Bart Cain will discuss these infamous criminals.
Feb. 25: Maggie Delaney, indentured servant, portrayed by Carol Jarboe.
Tickets are $15 for adults, and children under 12 are $5 each. Reservations are required due to limited seating.

In addition to a reconstructed fort, the park also has a campground, hiking trails, the Kentucky River Museum, mini-golf, picnic shelters and a gift shop. Fort Boonesborough is located near Richmond. From Interstate 75, take Exit 95 to KY 627. On I-64, exit at Winchester to KY 627.
