The Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH) will hold the first of six regional outreach programs, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 8, in eastern Kentucky.
This educational program will kick off with a community forum, “Community Connect,” from 5 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, followed by a one-day opportunity to meet individually with KCDHH staff by stopping by on Thursday, during their office hours of 1 — 7 p.m. The forum and office hours will be held at the Pikeville Public Library, 126 Lee Ave. Staff will also be visiting local businesses.
The purpose of this project is to bring Frankfort to the community to work with deaf and hard of hearing individuals, their families and the community which serves them. Staff will also be disseminating information in surrounding counties. Anyone from other counties near the Pikeville meeting site is invited to attend.

The Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, an agency of the Cabinet for Education and Workforce Development, acts as an advocate for deaf and hard of hearing persons on legislative issues as well as a consultant to the Governor, General Assembly, and various state and local governmental agencies concerning policies and programs that pertain to people with hearing loss.
