Kentucky Historical Society, BSCTC to host Listening Tour to honor Kentucky’s 225th Anniversary

BSCTC

The Kentucky Historical Society and Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) will hold a special listening session to commemorate the 225th anniversary of Kentucky’s statehood at 2 p.m., Monday, April 17 in the Gearheart Auditorium on the Prestonsburg campus of BSCTC.

Dr. Stephanie Lang, associate editor of the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society and graduate of Prestonsburg Community College (now BSCTC), will facilitate an engaging discussion about what makes the Bluegrass State, when viewed through the lens of history, unique.

Dr. Lang will lead a conversation that celebrates the Commonwealth’s past while looking for ways to confront the challenges of the future.

Kathy Lowe, director of Library Services at BSCTC, said she is proud to host this event at the college.

“The Kentucky Historical Society works to preserve and celebrate our history,” said Lowe. “We are glad that they chose to bring the listening tour to our Prestonsburg campus.”

For more information, contact Kathy Lowe at (606) 886-4748 or email kathy.lowe@kctcs.edu.
