KY 1167 in Rowan County Temporarily Closed at Craney Creek

Eagle Country Online

A portion of KY 1167 at Craney Creek in Rowan County remains closed as highway crews work to replace a culvert.

Last year, summer storms washed out 8-foot culvert on KY 1167 between the 8 and 9 mile markers. Steel pipes were installed as a temporary fix.

Work began Monday, Oct. 31, to excavate the roadway and remove the pipes so a new preformed concrete culvert can be installed. That work will continue through the weekend and into next week, the week of Nov. 7.

Until work is complete, KY 1167 will remain closed at the work site. All thru traffic on KY 1167 must detour using KY 32 (Elliottville Road) and reconnect using KY 3317 or KY 173, or alternate local routes.

Local traffic may use KY 1167 up to the work site. Message boards will be used to warn motorists.
