Leblanc and Kruunenberg Named First-Team All-OVC

MSU Athletics

Morehead State sophomores Andrea Leblanc and Ritchie Kruunenberg have been tabbed to the First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference tennis squads.

Leblanc, a Mexico City native, earned her second straight all-conference nod after being named to the second-team in 2014. Kruunenberg, a transfer from Vincennes (Ind.) College and a native of Nieuw Vennep, Netherlands, is the first MSU men's player to earn a spot on the first-team since Greg Anderson in 2009.

"I am happy for Andrea and Ritchie," Head Coach Kevin Fulton said. "They are both tremendous athletes, and both deserve to be recognized for their outstanding play this year."

Leblanc, who played No. 1 singles and doubles, posted a 13-5 singles record this spring and finished 8-2 in OVC matchups. She won her final five league contests, and six of her eight wins were via straight sets. Leblanc teamed with fellow sophomore Hayley Wild for an 8-3 doubles scorecard, including a 5-1 conference mark.

Kruunenberg, who also mans the No. 1 spot in singles and doubles, carded a 12-8 singles mark in his first Division I campaign. He was 7-2 in OVC action, including a three-set victory over OVC Player of the Year Alex Arovin from Tennessee Tech. He also topped Belmont's Mauricio Antun, who was the 2014 OVC Player of the Year and a first-team selection this season, in straight sets. In doubles, Kruunenberg was 9-8 overall and 4-2 in the league.

The MSU women are seeded third in this weekend's OVC Tournament in Nashville and will face sixth-seeded UT Martin Friday at 11 a.m. ET. The men's team, seeded sixth, will face third-seeded Austin Peay Friday at 3 p.m.
