McConnell to Visit Buffalo Trace Region

NY Times

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) will be in the Buffalo Trace Region Wednesday, with stops in Fleming and Lewis counties.

McConnell announced a bus tour in Kentucky last week as part of his campaign for reelection as Kentucky U.S. Senator, in which he faces opposition from Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes.

McConnell launched a Coal Country for Team Mitch bus tour in Kentucky on Monday, where he was joined by U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers.

Stops on Monday and Tuesday in Rogers' congressional district include: Laurel, Bell, Harlan, Letcher, Pike, Floyd, Magoffin, Johnson, Martin and Lawrence counties.

The planned stops for Fleming and Lewis counties will take place at Trace Creek Construction and Fleming County Farm Supply, after stops in Boyd and Carter counties.

McConnell is scheduled to appear with U.S. Congressmen Andy Barr and Thomas Massie at 11:45 a.m., at 127 Market Street in Vanceburg, followed by a 1:30 p.m., appearance at Fleming Farm Supply at 1724 Kentucky 11.

Grimes and McConnell are facing off in one the most closely watched senatorial races in the country during this mid-term election cycle, which will be decided Nov. 4.
