Medical Marijuana Discussion

KET

A group of Kentuckians is appealing to state lawmakers to support legalizing medical marijuana. Debbie McGrath is director of the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentucky. She says more than 90,000 people in the Commonwealth are affected by the disorder, which often results in life-threatening seizures and convulsions…

McGrath testified Wednesday before the Senate Health and Welfare Committee. She says Kentuckians are leaving the state to acquire cannabis oil for the treatment of loved ones who have epilepsy.

The committee is gathering information on a medical marijuana bill sponsored by State Senator Perry Clark, a Louisville Democrat.
