Men's Basketball On National TV

MSU Athletics

The Morehead State men's basketball team has picked up two more nationally-televised games for the upcoming season. The additions guarantee at least three national-TV appearances during the 2013-14 campaign.

Morehead State's Nov. 15 showdown at Xavier will be televised by FOX Sports 2, while its Nov. 22 contest at UCLA will be shown on the Pac-12 Networks.  The Eagles will also be featured on ESPNU when they travel to Tennessee on Dec. 23.

"We're excited about the opportunity to play on FOX Sports 2, the Pac-12 Networks and ESPNU," Head Coach Sean Woods said.  "Each nationally-televised game will be great exposure for our program, athletic department and university."

FOX Sports 2 began as Fuel TV in 2003 and was re-launched last month.  It is a sister channel of several FOX Sports properties and is available through most American cable providers.

A national network and six regional feeds make up the Pac-12 Networks.  It provides 24/7 access to Pac-12 teams and universities.  The networks televise more than 800 events each year.

ESPNU is a 24-hour college sports television network, which launched in 2005.  It airs more than 650 live events each year and is available nationwide in approximately 73 million households.

Morehead State's last national TV appearance was an ESPNU tilt at Tennessee State on Feb. 28, 2013.  The Eagles shot 62 percent that night en route to a thrilling 101-100 league victory.

"We're excited because millions of people will be able to watch our games at Xavier, UCLA and Tennessee," Woods said.  "One of the benefits of us playing a tough non-conference slate is being able to showcase our program on a big stage."

Morehead State opens exhibition play at Johnson Arena on Nov. 2 against St. Catharine (Ky.).  The Eagles then begin regular-season action at home on Nov. 9 versus Mid-Continent (Ky).

"Our players and coaches are working very hard in preparation for the season," Woods said.  "We are doing everything we can to build a product our families, friends, alumni and fans can be proud of.  Now is the time for everyone to get behind us."
