Kentucky Proud vendors will introduce their products to an eastern Kentucky audience in a new event April 10-11 in Morehead.
The inaugural Kentucky Proud Expo will run from 5-8 p.m. EDT April 10 and from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. April 11 at the Morehead Conference Center. The expo will bring together some two dozen producers, many of whom are members of Appalachia Proud, a Kentucky Proud brand for eastern Kentucky.
“This event will be a great opportunity for consumers in the Morehead area to discover some of the outstanding Kentucky Proud products that are made right here in Kentucky,” Agriculture Commissioner James Comer said. “I’m grateful to Morehead Tourism and the Morehead Conference Center for putting this event together.”
“We are excited to partner with Kentucky Proud to bring this event to Morehead,” said James Breeze, director of the Morehead Conference Center. “Morehead Tourism hopes to see people join us for the Kentucky Proud Expo and enjoy downtown Morehead while they are here.”
Appalachia Proud represents farmers, processors, agribusinesses, and other agricultural concerns in 37 eastern Kentucky counties. Events such as the expo help generate demand for Appalachia Proud products.
Representatives of the Rowan County Cooperative Extension office and Kentucky Proud are scheduled to speak. A seminar room will be open for any vendors who wish to host a presentation.
