A planning subcommittee looking into development of a walking and bicycling path through Morehead has estimated the cost at $318,000…and Mayor David Perkins says he’s surprised it’s not more than that.

Perkins says it’s getting harder to obtain grants for such projects but attempts can still be made. One grant application for the path has already been rejected but a second is still pending.
