The Morehead State men's and women's track programs completed their 2016 season this weekend at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships.
Senior Desmond Bell closed out a five-year span in blue and gold by taking second place in the 800-meter run. In a close battle to the finish, he finished in 1:50.98.
Senior Jorge Gil-Juarez also finished his career by nearly setting an MSU record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Gil-Juarez crossed the finish line in fourth place with a time of 9:14.05, less than a second off the school mark.
Freshman Justin Moakler capped off his first collegiate campaign by scoring points and taking sixth place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:54.00. Senior Evan Childers also garnered a point by taking eighth place in the 5K at 14:57.67.
For the Eagle women, junior Hannah Bailey tallied points by taking fourth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, covering the jumps and water hazards in 11:03.03.
Freshman Kansas Greenwell turned in her second career sub 18-minute 5K, running it in 17:59.17 for 12th place.
