MSPR To Broadcast Trail Town Designation Ceremony

The Morehead Tourism Commission welcomes special guests and friends to a Morehead Trail Town Designation Ceremony at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 22.

The event will take place on the lawn of the Rowan County Arts Center. Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

Guest speakers include:

Bob Stewart, Secretary of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet

Elaine Wilson, Executive Director, Office for Adventure Tourism

Jane Beshear, Kentucky's First Lady

Rep. Rocky Adkins, Majority Floor Leader

David Perkins, Morehead Mayor

Morehead State Public Radio (WMKY, 90.3FM) will broadcast the event following “MSPR’s Midday News” at 12:30PM on Tuesday, July 22. The program may also be heard via MSPR’s website at: www.wmky.org

Paul Hitchcock earned his Masters in Communications from Morehead State University and Bachelors in Radio-TV/Psychology from Georgetown College. A veteran broadcaster for more than 40 years and an avid fan of blues, jazz and American roots music. Hitchcock has been with WMKY since 1986 and was named General Manager in 2003. He currently hosts "Muddy Bottom Blues" (Fri., 8pm-9pm), "Nothin' But The Blues" (Sat., 8pm-12am), "Sunday Night Jazz Showcase" and "Live From The Jazz Lounge" (Sun., 8pm-9pm) and "The Golden Age of Radio" (Sun., 2pm-3pm). He also serves as producer for "A Time For Tales" and "The Reader's Notebook."
