MSU Sophomore Art and Design Exhibition Opens April 6

The main gallery of Morehead State University’s Claypool-Young Art Building will host the 2016 Sophomore Art and Design Exhibition, April 6-14.

The annual show is an opportunity for MSU’s Department of Art and Design students to exhibit as emerging artists in a professional setting at the midpoint of their college career.

The exhibition will open with a reception featuring live music by students and complimentary refreshments Wednesday, April 6, from 5-7 p.m.

Participating artists include:

Jessie Ayala, McAllen, Texas; Larissa Beauchamp, Morehead; Kassi Brewer, Pikeville; Brittany Centers, Pikeville; Waylan Coffey, Frenchburg; Rachel Cook, Seco; Meghan Courtney, Florence; Krisztina Curry, East Bernstadt; Shane Dyer, Morehead; Lauren Eastep, Millersburg; Dylan Evans, West Liberty; Jennifer Flannery, Grayson; Michael Hutchinson, Salyersville; Alyssa Johnson, Big Creek; Erin Long, Edgewood; Elyssia Lowe, Grayson; Maria “Ria” Long, Morehead; Simon Maness, Louisville; Heather Milby, Greensburg; Haley Mullins, Royalton; Allison Nolen, Vanceburg; Miranda Offill, Olive Hill; Sean Porter, Morehead; and Dustin Saunders, Mt. Sterling.

The gallery within Claypool-Young features contemporary art for the MSU community as well as the University’s service region.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment, and is free and open to the public. Parking is available on Main Street and across campus after 5 p.m.
