Police Say Threat Against Lexington High School Isn't Credible

There will be a greater police presence at Henry Clay High School today. Yesterday a student was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to school. He told Principal Paul Little Jr it was for his own protection in his neighborhood and he never planned on hurting anyone at school. Little said he believed the student but there is a zero tolerance policy for bringing firearms on campus. Then a threat against the school on social media began to circulate.

A pre-planned district meeting on school safety last night quickly boiled over with angered parents and students from Henry Clay who felt the incident was being ignored.

Caulk said there will be more law enforcement officers present at Henry Clay High School today as they continue to investigate that possible threat. The Lexington Police Department posted on facebook that they did not believe the threat made on-line was credible but they are taking it seriously. They ask anyone who sees or hears any possible threats toward any school to contact police or school safety officers immediately.
