Road Project Public Meeting Scheduled in Frenchburg

Residents of Menifee County are invited to attend a public informational meeting to discuss a project to improve US 460 in Frenchburg.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the Menifee County High School cafeteria. It will be an “open house” format meeting with no formal presentation.

Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and project consultants will be available to answer questions and provide information about the project. Handouts will be available describing the project’s purpose and need, the right-of-way acquisition process and potential utility relocation concerns. Members of the public will be able to view displays showing the proposed route and the properties to be impacted by the project.

A project is under development to improve US 460 between the Beaver Creek bridge in Frenchburg and the foot of Rothwell Hill, east of Frenchburg, where the road was reconstructed several years ago. Under the proposal, a portion of the road would be widened to include a center turn lane. In addition, sidewalks would be installed along a segment of the route.

Persons with disabilities who wish to attend the meeting but have special accessibility needs that require assistance should contact the project manager, Min Jiang, at (606) 666-8841 to request special assistance.
