Senator Rand Paul Discusses Sexual Assault Complaints in the Military

US Senator Rand Paul has joined a bipartisan effort in support of a bill that would take sexual assault complaints in the military outside the chain of command. The Kentucky Republican spoke at a press conference in Washington Tuesday…

"I'm concerned about justice and I want it to occur in the military for the victims, as well as potentially those accused. Justice is very important to me, both for the accused and the victim. I'm concerned that victims of assault, though, may be deterred from reporting their result if they have to report to their boss" - US Senator Rand Paul

Paul says sexual assault is not a partisan issue and should not be treated as such. He’s backing legislation that calls for independent military prosecutors to handle allegations of sexual assault.
