The Rowan County Public Library plays host to “Simon Kenton: Frontiersman” Thursday night in Morehead. The Rowan County Historical Society and Kentucky Chatauqua are presenting a living history program on the famous explorer at 6 o’clock in the community room.

Many places and structures in Kentucky are named after the frontiersman, including Kenton County, the Kenton Memorial Bridge in Maysville and Simon Kenton High School in Independence.
