MSU Athletics

Morehead State football student-athletes Mike Jackson, Brandon Bornhauser and Joshua Brunner have been selected to play in the Football Championship Subdivision National Bowl.

The "all-star" game will be held Sunday (Dec. 7) in Miami at Florida International's Ocean Bank Field. Game time is set for 2 p.m.following the 10 a.m. contest featuring players from Divisions II, III and NAIA.

Brunner will suit up for the Navy Team, led by former National Football League special teams coach Mike Stock. During a 30-yard career, Stock coached for the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, St. Louis Rams and most recently Green Bay Packers.

Jackson and Bornhauser will be on the White Team, led by Chris Thompson. Thompson is the head coach of the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, which won the 2014 Professional Indoor Football League championship.

Bornhauser, a senior slot receiver from Cincinnati, led the Eagles with 10 touchdowns. He registered seven scores on the ground, two through the air, passed for one and returned a kick for another.

Brunner, a senior offensive lineman from Pittsburgh, blocked for a unit which ranked second in the Pioneer Football League in total yards (429.2 per game) and passing yards (276.1). The front line also ranked second in the PFL in fewest sacks allowed (16).

Jackson, a senior safety from Cincinnati, led the defense with three interceptions and also blocked a kick. He made 59 total stops, including 39 solo tackles.
