Traffic Advisory: Shoulder, lane closures on I-64 bridges in Bath County

CBS 58

Painting and repairs on two I-64 bridges in Bath County will impact interstate traffic in the coming weeks.

Beginning Nov. 6, contractors will patch concrete and paint underneath the I-64 bridge over Slate Creek at the 120 mile marker just west of Owingsville. The left shoulder of I-64 in both directions will be closed for a week or longer, depending on weather.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 13, contractors will paint and repair the I-64 bridge over Slate Creek at the 118 mile marker west of Owingsville. Repairs at this bridge will require daily lane closures on the interstate. Motorists should watch for one-lane traffic for a week or longer, depending on weather.

If work takes longer than expected, there will not be any lane closures during the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 22-26.

Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow-down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
