Trevor Jones Named PFL Offensive Player of the Week

Morehead State Athletics

Following a record-breaking performance Saturday, Morehead State freshman running back Trevor Jones has been named Pioneer Football League co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Jones, from Irvine, Ky., set the MSU single-game rushing record with 284 yards on 24 carries and also scored four touchdowns against Jacksonville. He scored on runs of one twice and also reached the end zone on runs of 17 and 61 yards. He also had an 83-yard jaunt that set up a two-yard touchdown score.

His yardage total was the third-highest ever in PFL history and was the second highest among rushers in the Football Championship Subdivision this season. His four-touchdown effort is tied for the highest in the FCS in 2016, and seven of his runs resulted in a first down.

Morehead State has a bye week this week before returning to PFL play on Nov. 5 at Butler.
