A Hillsboro woman accused of stealing from a Morehead doctor’s office will be arraigned on Friday.
Authorities say 39-year-old Lori Back worked at Morehead Primary Care for several years before the alleged theft was discovered. She is accused of taking over $240,000, which is a Class-C felony.
Back was arrested last week and released on a $15,000 partially-secured cash bond.
According to court documents, Back filed an affidavit of indecency—which is a petition for a court appointed layer. Back tested positive for amphetamines at the time of her arrest, however the documents did not specify if the substance was illegally in her system.
Authorities say no patient accounts were affected by the theft. If convicted, Back could face up to 10 years in prison.
