Xavier Moon Named All-OVC First Team, DeJuan Marrero Earns Second Team honors

Senior Xavier Moon has been named All-OVC First Team and senior DeJuan Marrero has been named All-OVC Second Team, as voted on by the league's head basketball coaches and sports information directors.

Moon has scored in double figures in 24 of 29 games this season and has six 20-plus point games. He ranks ninth in the OVC with 16.3 points, third in FT% (.889), second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4), fifth in assists (4.6), sixth in minutes (34.9), and 15th in steals (1.1). His .889 free throw percentage ranks 19th in the country.

In OVC play, he is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 37.1 minutes, while shooting 47 percent from three-point range.

He matched a career-high with 26 points at Tennessee Tech. He shot 5-of-8 from three-point range, while adding seven assists and four rebounds. He set his career high with 26 points, 21 came in second half, in the win at Austin Peay. He shot 10-of-16 from the floor and 6-of-10 from three-point range.

Marrero has 13 double-doubles this season and 20 for his career. With 13 double-doubles, he leads the OVC and ranks 28th in the country. He averages 8.5 rebounds, which ranks fifth in the OVC, and he leads the league with 3.1 offensive rebounds per game.

In 15 OVC games, he is averaging 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds.

He had a career-high 24 points, while adding 12 rebounds and five assists in the win over Southeast Missouri. He had 21 points and ten rebounds vs. Murray State.

Belmont's Evan Bradds was named OVC Player of the Year, Tennessee State's Tahjere McCall was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Southeast Missouri's Denzel Mahoney was named Freshman of the Year. Belmont's Rick Byrd was named Coach of the Year.
