Kentucky's Department of Corrections (DOC) announced the promotion of Morehead State University legal studies graduate Amelia Howell (Class of 2010) to justice program administrator in the division's Policy and Accreditation Branch. Howell will be responsible for the development, revision and procedural review of all the department's policies and procedures.

Morehead State University is proud to announce that it has been awarded $3 million in federal funding for its nursing, kinesiology, and imaging sciences programs. The funding, which was announced by U.S. Representative Hal Rogers at an event held on March 6, will be used to upgrade laboratory equipment, simulation equipment, ultrasound and radiography machines, and more.

Morehead State University's Kentucky Center for Traditional Music (KCTM) will display student talent and the musical tradition of Appalachia at its "Sounds of Our Heritage" concert. The event is at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, at the Rowan County Arts Center.

Morehead State University President Dr. Jay Morgan has announced fundraising success for the 2022 calendar year. Last year, over 4,000 donors came together to contribute $6.7 million in support. The previous record for calendar-year giving was exceeded by nearly $1 million.

The Spring Career & Internship Fair gives Morehead State Eagles an advantage in career success. The fair is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) ballrooms.

Bowen has been an adjunct sculpture instructor at Morehead State, given sculpture workshops and demonstrations, and has participated in faculty art exhibitions. He has also worked at Shawnee State University, Marshall University, and the University of South Carolina.

The MSU Foundation has announced an estate gift valued at nearly $3 million dollars, the largest estate gift in the school's 135-year history. The donation is from the estate of Dr. Staley F. Adams and his wife, Grace Adams.
