Fleming County Kicks-Off Summer Fair Season

Area fairs are gearing up for another summer of exhibitions, entertainment and bragging rights, beginning with the Fleming County Fair running June 25-28.

The fair takes place mainly at the Double S Entertainment venue on Foster Street in Flemingsburg, but also has events at the Fleming County High School Agriculture building.

Competitions start 9 a.m., Thursday, with the market swine show at the FCHSA building; registration and declaring weights for the show begin at 7:30 a.m.

The floral hall, at Double S, will be accepting entries noon to 3:30 p.m., Thursday.

Vendor booths open Friday at 9 a.m.

Livestock competitions, talent shows and pageants are scheduled throughout the fair dates.

Tollesboro Lions Fair is July 17-25, including the Tollesboro Lions Horse Show July 17-18.

The first tractor pull of the fair is 7 p.m., Friday, July 17, with weigh in at 5:30 p.m. and the horse show beginning at 7:30 p.m.

A memorial walk honoring the late Chris Wright is scheduled for July 19, beginning at 8 a.m. and a bicycle parade beginning at 2 p.m. Competitions include pageants and livestock shows, plus remote control car and truck races, Mutton Bustin' and ATV drag racing are on the schedule along with entertainment by cloggers and a concert on July 23, and mud slings July 24 and 25.

Tollesboro fairgrounds are off Kentucky 9.

Old Reliable Germantown Fair kicks of its season Aug 1-8, beginning with the horse shows on Aug. 1 and 2, and livestock, demolition derby, and Miss Germantown Fair pageant on Aug. 3, among other activities.

Pageants are scheduled through the week, in addition to a truck and tractor pull on Aug. 5 and 6.

Robertson County School/Kentucky Farm Bureau Fair is in September, featuring a floral hall, livestock competitions and sale, and local fare.

In Ohio, Adams County Fair is July 12-18, with a Junior and Senior Fair combination of competitions.

Booths should be in place by 9 a.m., July 12 with livestock shows scheduled through the week.

The Junior livestock sale is July 18 beginning activities around 10:45 a.m., which is also broadcast on C103 radio.

Brown County Ohio Fair, nicknamed the Little State Fair, is Sept. 28 – Oct. 3.

Featured, in addition to the livestock shows, demolition derby, horse show, pageants and fair fare during the fair dates, are entertainment by The Moron Brothers and Sawyer Brown on Sept. 29.
