Concrete restoration work is under way on two bridges crossing Fox Creek in Fleming County, and contractors are making safety improvements along KY 57 north of Flemingsburg.
The bridges, at mile marker 2.8 on KY 111 at Grange City and mile marker 7.2 on KY 158 at Ringo’s Mill, will be one lane with temporary traffic signals for about the next month. Delong Concrete LLC is doing the work under a $240,321.15 contract awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Work on KY 57 north of Flemingsburg includes hillside embankment cuts to improve sight distance, culvert pipe replacements and roadside slope corrections from Sleepy Run bridge to Logan Run Creek bridge. Motorists should watch for traffic changes such as lane and road closures through September. Specific schedules will be announced. ASL Excavating Inc. is doing the work under a $430,946.37 low-bid contract awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Road work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow-down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
