The best equestrian riders from around the world are in the bluegrass again for the annual Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event.  Competition in dressage, cross country, and show jumping runs through Sunday.  Different events are held each day.

Rolex Spokesman Marty Bauman says the Kentucky Reining Cup is also staged at the Kentucky Horse Park this weekend.

"This is now the fourth year.  It's become a very popular stop.  You know, the U.S. is the number one power in the world in reining.  We won the team gold medal at the World Equestrian Games and the top riders are all here because they want to make the team that will go to Normandy this summer to try to defend that world championship gold medal,” said Bauman.

The Rolex three day event at the Kentucky Horse Park also serves as the selection trial to choose the team to represent the U.S. in the World Equestrian Games in France in a few months.
