Kentucky Veterans Expo slated for June 26

The 2015Kentucky Veterans Expowill be held at Boyd County High School (I-64, exit 185), on Friday June 26th from 11a.m. until 3 p.m.

Current and former members of the military, and their families, can enjoy free food, live music, prizes and meet with representatives from federal, state and local agencies.  The Expo offers access to many veteran and community resources, education and training information, employment opportunities, medical screenings, and veterans’ benefits.

“We seek to connect veterans, service members and their families to resources that will enhance their quality of life. We facilitate opportunities for veterans and demonstrate our appreciation for their service through the productive partnerships of community and government agencies, veterans, businesses and educational institutions,” said Max Ammons, Morehead State University’s director of military initiatives and expo executive director.

“Our veterans deserve the support of our local communities, so we developed a regional event that offers a full range of veterans’ resources and a venue for our community to say ‘thank you’ to the many men and women of our region who have honorably served in the military. The Expo is a rewarding collaborative endeavor with our federal, state and local partners.  We hope all our local veterans will attend. For those veterans not in need of the resources offered, we hope they join us for lunch and comradery. It’s all free.”

Veterans/guests may register at the door or pre-register online.  Information and registration is at http://kyvetexpo.org/.
