Mignon Hall Work Continues

Construction crews are continuing a 9.2 million dollar effort to renovate a 295 bed residence hall on the Morehead State University campus. Work on the 49 year old Mignon Hall began two months ago.

MSU President Wayne Andrews says both the interior and exterior of the building will be completely remodeled. Andrews also says the school will do some things to improve the area between Mignon hall and nearby Mignon Tower.

“We’re gonna create more of an area where students can gather and congregate, we’re gonna take some of the cars out of there and create some really nice spaces that’ll be welcoming and attractive to create more of a sense of community. It’s a really, really good project. I’m excited about it and particularly since it’s gonna make the whole appearance of that end of the campus look so much better.” –Wayne Andrews

The Mignon Hall project is expected to be completed by summer 2014. It’s the sixth in a series of dormitory renovation efforts at Morehead State University.
