Moore to retire

After 49 years working for the school district, Rowan County’s Superintendent has announced his intent to retire later this year.

Marvin Moore was named 2016 Superintendent of the Year by the Kentucky Educational Development Corporation.  He was hired to run the district in 2005.

Moore told the Board of Education Thursday that his last day will be June 30th.

Moore said it was costing him money to come to work every day – and that was a big factor in his decision to retire.
