There will be a Recovery Rally at the Rowan County Arts Center on Saturday, September 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is being hosted by the Rowan County UNITE Coalition.
Project coordinator Chris Salyers says the goal of the rally is to gather the community in support of those recovering from substance abuse.
“We would really like to see people from the community to come and they can learn more about what recovery is, but also to encourage individuals who have addiction issues that don’t really know where to turn so that they can maybe get some guidance from the event as well.” –Chris Salyers
The Rowan County Recovery Rally is a family-friendly event and will include many activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, relay races and music. Food, refreshments and guest speakers will also be featured.
The event is free and open to everyone in the community.
