Smoky Bridge High Line Ride Open April 30 at Carter Caves

Levisa Lazer

Carter Caves State Resort Park is offering the Smoky Bridge High Line Ride, an unforgettable zipline experience, on April 30.

This temporary zipline of more than 200 feet will run across the gorge behind the park lodge. Participants will be strapped in for a memorable ride that drops more than 40 feet and cruises by the park’s largest natural arch, Smoky Bridge. Bring cameras for great photo opportunities.

Tickets are $15 a person (one ride per ticket). A limited number of tickets go on sale April 18 at the front desk of Carter Caves lodge, or by phone at 1-800-325-0059. (There is a weight limit of 250 pounds and participants must fit in the harness per manufacturers' safety guidelines.)

The zipline will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and each ticket will have a designated time.

The equipment for the zipline is funded by the Friends of Carter Caves. This ride is also offered during Carter Caves’ Winter Adventure Weekend.

Carter Caves State Resort Park is located at 344 Caveland Drive in Olive Hill. The park has a lodge with a restaurant, cottages and campground. In addition to cave tours, activities include hiking, horseback riding, swimming, boating and fishing.
