Suspects Sought in Lewisburg Burglaries

Law enforcement officials are on the lookout for two suspects wanted in relation to burglaries in the Lewisburg area.

Mason County Sheriff Patrick Boggs and deputies with the Mason County Sheriff's Office were conducting traffic stops last week on vehicles matching the description of a car seen in the area of the burglaries.

Boggs said two homes on Kentucky 419 were burglarized last Wednesday (Jan. 14) within minutes of each other sometime before noon.  Entry to the residences was gained by kicking in a door and electronics, jewelry, money and medications were taken.

Boggs said witnesses spotted two people, who were driving a black four-door car with dark tinted windows.  The car, which was described as a foreign make has damage on the driver's side. Witnesses were unable to determine if the suspects were male or female.

He also indicated the suspects may be tied to a rash of recent burglaries in Bracken County.

As previously reported by The Ledger Independent, Bracken County Sheriff Howard Niemeier said a vehicle of interest in the thefts is a black Honda Civic with two male white subjects. The burglaries in Bracken County have included homes and businesses.

Citizens of both counties are being asked to stay alert to strangers in the area and to get as much information as possible on the vehicles or subjects, including description of vehicle, color, make, model and plate number if possible, and description of subjects height, weight, hair and clothing and other physical features.
