Mayor arrest may be in error

The Rowan County Sheriff says the arrest of the mayor of Morehead was due to a clerical error.Morehead Mayor Jim Tom Trent was arrested Wednesday for violating a domestic violence order that has been in place against him in Fayette County. Sheriff Matt Sparks says when he went to make the arrest, he believed there was some mistake.Rowan County Sheriff Matt SparksTrent was released on a $3-thousand dollar cash bond.  No court date has been set in the case. Trent has declined to comment on the incident.
