Barker-Tabor residency case dismissed

A special judge dismissed a civil case against the Rowan County Court Clerk Tuesday which questioned her residency.

Sam King filed the case against Kim Barker-Tabor, who was appointed to the position in January after her father retired.

Barker-Tabor said King filed no proof in the case. She believes it was filed simply to distract her.

Barker-Tabor said Special Judge Robert Conley dismissed the case, making him the second judge after Beth Mays to certify her residency. She faces two other Democratic hopefuls for the position in next week’s primary election, Anthony Caudill and Melissa Powers.
