SoapCon Comes to Morehead

SoapCon is a soap-making convention for both beginners and advanced soap makers. SoapCon’s director, Catherine Sizemore has held the event for the past 9 years. This year, it will be held at the Morehead Conference Center.

Sizemore said the idea for SoapCon came after starting a YouTube channel, which she started back in 2011.

“It gained a lot of following, just about a little over 185,000 subscribers. They all connected over social media and they wanted to meet in person. So, in the fall of 2015, I organized SoapCon, so they could do just that,” Sizemore said.

SoapCon this year lasts from September 15^th to September 17^th. Sizemore said each day is planned with multiple activities for attendees to enjoy.

“So, attendees will be able to enjoy three days of learning from top-notch industry experts. Topics range from scientific analysis, to real world retailing, and nearly everything in between. It’s a soaping social all about saponification. Attendees have the opportunity to network and interact with others and share their passion and craft,” Sizemore said.

Tickets are on sale until September 2^nd. The public is free to come on the afternoon of September 15^th.
