Morehead State student killed in Chicago hit-and-run

A Morehead State student was struck by a vehicle and killed in Chicago early Sunday morning.

W-K-Y-T reports Anan Albalawi, 27, was one of five people hit by a vehicle after the cab they were in broke down. Albalawi was pronounced dead at the scene. The other four were taken to area hospitals.

Albalawi was a junior international student and engineering major. He was reportedly the only MSU student in the group.

Illinois State Police said the vehicle did not stop and that they have a female driver in custody.
