Potential for ice & local flooding later this week

With even more winter weather expected later this week, the National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Winter Weather Watch for the area days in advance.A series of low-pressure systems will be making their way through the area, priming conditions for significant rain and changing temperatures.Jane Wix is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the NWS in Jackson.  She says rain will first make its way to the Eastern part of the Commonwealth on Wednesday.Jane Wix, Warning Coordination Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in JacksonWix says temperatures dropping quickly Thursday night make a ¼inch of ice accumulation possible by Friday morning for those living near Interstate-64.Jane WixWix says those likely to commute Friday morning should adjust their plans accordingly, and avoid driving through high water should flooding occur.
